We fly with Skies Magazine’s Mike Renyo on a mission to photograph Waterloo Warbirds fleet of aircraft.

Most of the Waterloo Warbirds volunteers with their four flying aircraft.

Assembled aircrew brief the complex flight. Photo plane pilot, Dave Hewitt, leads the brief with Skies editor Mike Renyo directing the sequence of images to be captured.

The crew then head to the hangar to walk through the flight so each pilot visually knows where they need to be and when.

At the same time Waterloo Warbirds ground crew prepare the aircraft for flight.

Ray Thwaites will be leading the WW formation in the T-33. He is seen here in the Mako Shark getting his line of sight on the Beech C-45 photoship.

First images on the list is the flight of three. T-33, leading the Vampire and L-29.

The speed differences and flying characteristics of each aircraft make for challenging formation work, but the Waterloo Warbirds pilots make it look easy.

Second list of images required a 3-ship formation break. This sequence became the opening image for the article in Skies magazine.

Peter Stewart brings the Vampire in for some solo shots.

Ray Thwaites brings the T-33 Mako Shark in for some single shots. 

Derrick Hammond is seen flying the Viper L-29.

Last up is Liam Pearson flying the Waterloo Warbirds Harvard Mk.II.
