Day three. Planning starts early for a “Mass Attack” flypast over Ottawa. The plan calls for Twenty One aircraft in five groups to fly over Ottawa within minutes of each other.

By 08:00 the hangar comes alive as aircraft are checked and pulled out onto the ramp.

Inside the VWoC library the pilots brief for the mass flight over Canada’s Capitol.

The P-40 is officially down with a leak so the pilot, Dave Hadfield, prepares his Fairchild 24 in to fly with the Yellow Wings Flight.

Mike Potter fires up the VWoC “High Flight” Harvard. At roughly the same time all twenty one aircraft come alive and prepare for departure.

Harvard Flight consisting of five Harvards in A Flight and a Sukhoi and five Pitt Specials in B Flight are next to take the runway.

As the Harvard Flight depart the Fighter Flight line up on the taxiway. The Fighter Flight consisted of two groups. World War Two Fighters and Jets comprised A Flight with B Flight consisting of three T-28s.

With all twenty-one aircraft airborne the ramp crew get a much needed rest.

As we head for Ottawa the National Aviation Museum can be seen under our left wing.

Careful to avoid two no-fly zones over Ottawa Harvard Lead takes the flight past the Parliament Buildings.

After exiting the Ottawa area my pilot, Tony Donnelly, pulls out of the formation so I can capture a few shots of the B Flight consisting of the Pitt Specials and Sukhoi.
